Particle-mania

I thought I should just post a quick follow up to my particles session at FlashForward… you guys have been going particle crazy!

First of all, here are the audience submissions* that you guys made during the session… seriously entertaining. 🙂

My favourite by Bronius Motekaitis…he actually took the picture mid presentation! hahaha! And yes that is a Dell I’m using in the picture, which ironically has just blown up in real life!

And here are the source files (zip)* used during the presentation.

More coming soon…

*Files no longer available – sorry!

Incredible.. Seb, you’re like a superstar in the flash world, and to see my meager contribution tossed together for my own amusement (who wouldn’t love the limelight amidst the most creative, nerdy peers?) hailed as “favorite” (favourite) is just great.

Thanks for the kind words and inspiration. And thanks for unlocking the mysteries of particles in a most engaging and entertaining presentation. Cheers.

This is great, I really love the community feel I got from FF and Seb’s session was definitely the most fun I had all week without drinking.

Thanks for remembering us after the conference and being so kind as to send me an email today about doing this. It reminds me of staying in the loop with everyone I’ve met and also that I started my own blog as well, planning to put my learnings and experiments on there as well for everyone to see and take part in, and hopefully get something out of.

It was my inspiration at FlashForward 2006 to learn more and more and become good enough to contribute something back myself as a Flash Forward presenter in the future.

Seb, your work is genius and it was a pleasure to be a part of the session this year.

Until the next one,
David Khaykin.

Thanks guys! It’s great to get such good feedback, and I’m really glad that you enjoyed the sessions. See you at the next one!

Seb

[…] A truly mindblowing speaker line-up means that this year’s FlashBelt is nearly sold out! I’ll be presenting my new particles session, now updated for as3, giving us 10 times as many particles! I’m really looking forward to visiting Minneapolis, there are some awesome speakers and I’m particularly looking forward to meeting Andre Michelle who’s work is always astonishing. […]
